Creep Chic

.

Stacy Downs is a great style editor and writer for the Kansas City Star. When she called to say they would like to feature Curious Sofa in a Halloween story I was thrilled. We went shopping for ideas and inspiration to help her readers get a jump on their fall decorating. The shot above was staged for the cover story outside the shop. Stacy wanted to recreate what we had done last year for her readers. Read the article here. Enjoy!

Love you upside down witch. You have such a stunning blog. I admire your courage to open the boutique. It is very inspirational. I have an online boutique but haven't taken the next step to do a store front. I welcome any advice or trade-secrets.

Best Wishes!

It was just as fun in person as I thought it'd be. What a neat staged photo.

What Christmas idea? Please share a link when you have it, or the title of the magazine!
Thanks.

What a fabulous store (and blog). Congratulations on your feature!!
Living in North Carolina, I can't visit your store, but do your featured artists have websites or blogs? I would love to know more about many of them.

Ok, I was in today and bought my $63 worth of stuff to do my part for your store. I have my eye on some other things so I will get them next month! I am not one of the ones that can buy the big ticket items, but I'd hate to lose your store, so I'll help little by little! I asked about when Christmas goes up. I LOVE Christmas time and I can't wait to see what ideas you have! I have collected a lot of the old white ironstone/ restraunt dishes and some of your old silver. I think I see an idea on how to use those forming in my minds eye. Your staff are so friendly.

$63?!!! Honey, that is a great amount. DO NOT apologize. If only every warm body that walked in would do that. All sales help. Thanks for the support.

Wow, I am in awe of all your Halloween decor! I love having Halloween parties and it's great seeing some decorations that are as sinister and macabre as mine!
I think my favorite is the lighted dollhead fixture- genius.
I live in the Kansas City area and have not been in your store, I will be sure to pay you a visit!

When I was in your store last week I found a real treasure! Your zinc labels are fabulous! They were pretty well hidden on the shelf, but I found them and I LOVE them! I have baskets hanging from my bedroom doors and they look fantastic hanging on them by using a piece of thin jute. You really need to put those out where more people will see them! I think I may have to come back and get more, as I shared the ones I bought with my daughter.
